Safari Overview
The safari starts, on the journey to Meru National Park. It has been branded as “Complete Wilderness’’. The park is most famous as the setting for Joy Adamson’s book “Born Free’’, the story of the Adamson’s life and research amongst Lion and Cheetah.
The safari continues to Samburu that offers unique vistas of rounded, rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp home to a wide variety of animal and birdlife, Buffalo Springs records over 365 species of bird.
Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. Many species are rarely found elsewhere in Kenya.
The safari ends in a visit to the, Africa’s second highest peak, Mt.Kenya. The mountain is an awe-inspiring sight.
Its ragged series of peaks are crowned with snow, and its slopes are thick with forest. The mountain is best seen at dawn, when the days early light silhouettes its impressive summit high over the surrounding plains.
Day 1: Nairobi-Meru National Park
After breakfast from the hotel you will be picked up by our tour guide at 8.00am. Depart for Meru National park viewing the scenic countryside en route , the journey covers about 350 Km on Nyeri-Nanyuki road.
Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge.
After relaxing for a while, you will proceed for an afternoon game drive, expecting to view numerous wild animals : Gravy’s Zebra, cheetah, Elephants, Water buck, Leopard, Reticulated Giraffe, Hippopotamus, Buffalo, Python, Eland, Bush pig,, Bohor Reed buck, black Rhino and more than 427 recorded species of birds.

Day 2: Meru National Park Full Day
Early morning game drives at this wild and beautiful park, return to the lodge for breakfast. You can take some time to relax at the pool before lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the former home of Joy and Adamson and Elsa the Lioness. Later enjoy an evening game drive.

Day 3: Meru-Samburu
After a special bush breakfast, you will depart to Samburu National reserve with an enroute game drive. Arrive in time for lunch served in the lodge. Enjoy an afternoon game drive with a chance to spot: Reticulated Giraffes, Gravy’s Zebra, Oryx, Gerenuk, Buffalo, Hippo, Crocodile, Crocodile and Hyena.
The sun baked landscape is breathtaking with surrounding mountains shimmering on the horizon as temperatures rise. To the west, the sheer sided slopes of majestic Ol Olokwe Mountain form a perfect back drop to any photograph.

Day 4: Samburu Full Day
Enjoy this northern frontier park with early morning and late afternoon game drives. Optional activities include; visits to Samburu villages and nature and bush walks.
The reserve is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the lion, leopard and cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the miracle lioness that adopted the baby oryx is a resident in the reserve.

Day 5: Samburu-Mt.Kenya
Early morning departure and proceed to slopes Mt.Kenya the Africa’s second largest mountain.
After a good view of the Mountain, visit the Ol-pejeta conservancy, situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snow-capped Mount Kenya, it boasts an astounding variety of animals including all the “Big Five’’ the endangered black and white rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion, as well as the sanctuary for rescued Chimpanzees; the only one in Kenya.

Day 6: Mt.Kenya-Nairobi
After breakfast, start the journey back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon with drop off at JKIA airport for your flight back home.
